Sunset in Sunset Park by abv

My grandfather passed away last November. It still hits me everyday. I miss his voice and the way he viewed the world. The little things meant so much to him. Like sunsets. The sunsets remind us that the world is spinning and that a new day will come. Today I woke up to a notification from my phone saying, "This is what you did 2 years ago" and I stared at the pictures holding in my tears. It was one of the last ever beach sunsets I watched with my grandfather. He was so happy. It was all so pure. I find myself watching sunsets a lot now. I wasnt planning on watching one today. But I found myself walking in Sunset Park in Brooklyn during Sunset hours. And it was the most breathtaking scene I've witnessed. Familes chatting amd laughing together, children playing with their soccer balls (or footballs) and the sun setting. People stopped what they were doing to watch, and I felt connected with everyone in the park. And I felt connected with my grandfather again. I'd say, next time you get a chance, take a breather amd watch the sun set.
